What is the purpose of an aerial work platform in aviation ?
As we all know, aircraft are behemoths. As a result, they are inherently relatively complex to maintain or repair, as their various parts are so difficult to reach. Different engines : diesel, electric or dual-energy
In order to move and function properly, aircraft maintenance MRO platforms need power. The energy source depends on the type of engine the platform is equipped with. Like cars, some MRO platforms are diesel-powered, while others are electrically driven. There are also dual-energy platform engines. In most cases, it’s the customer’s application that determines the choice of engine.
For hangar use, an electric motor is the preferred choice, as it is less restrictive in terms of emissions and noise. For intensive outdoor use, a diesel version is preferable. For a mix of the two, bi-energy is particularly relevant.
