This is the equipment that enables passengers, staff and other equipment to board and disembark the aircraft.
Passenger stairs
These are simple staircases on wheels, linking the tarmac to the aircraft doors. They can be self-propelled or electrically-assisted. Our SPS9.19 is air-transportable, enabling it to be loaded directly into the hold of a military aircraft. To choose your passenger staircase, it’s essential to know the docking heights.
Hotel and PMR trucks
These are lifting vehicles used for loading and unloading foodstuffs and goods in the case of catering, or for loading people with reduced mobility in the case of HELP vehicles.
This equipment is particularly used in the military sector.
Aircraft towing
Aircraft towing equipment is indispensable, and falls into two categories.
Baggage tractors
As their name suggests, these are vehicles used to move the baggage carried by aircraft. Whether civilian or military, these vehicles are often seen on airport tarmacs. They can also tow small aircraft or other equipment.
Aircraft tractors
These machines are quite similar to baggage tractors in form and function. They are, however, more powerful vehicles, capable of moving aircraft weighing up to 105 tonnes.
Aircraft maintenance and repairs
At an airport, whether civil or military, being able to repair and maintain aircraft parts such as engines and the like is a must. At SOVAM, we offer maintenance platforms in particular.
Maintenance lifting platforms
These platforms, with a floor height of 5 to 12 meters, are indispensable. Given the gargantuan size of aircraft, it is important to have platforms that can reach the various parts of the aircraft, while ensuring the all-important safety of both operators and the aircraft itself.
Small equipment
In addition to aerial work platforms, a whole range of small equipment is also required for aircraft maintenance and repair. In our case, these include stepladders.
Sanitary vehicles
Sanitary vehicles are also essential to the smooth running of an airport or military airbase. At SOVAM, we offer both servicing and drinking water vehicles. The basic design is the same for both equipment, but the first is used to drain and disinfect aircraft toilet tanks. The second is used to fill drinking water tanks.
